Mumbai, November 21: An Air India Boeing 777 destined for New York's JFK Airport had to return to Mumbai early on Tuesday following a reported minor technical snag, as confirmed by the airline.
The aircraft safely landed back at the Mumbai airport, where it underwent precautionary checks due to the detected issue.
Air India released a statement stating, 'AI119 from Mumbai to New York (JFK) air-returned due to a minor technical issue and landed safely back at Mumbai for precautionary checks in the interest of the safety of passengers and crew.
Immediate details regarding the exact number of passengers onboard were not immediately available.
The airline reassured that it's actively engaged in supporting and assisting the affected passengers at the Mumbai airport.
