Air India passenger orders veg food, served chicken on flight; slams airline on social media
PTC News Desk: An Air India passenger chastised the airline for serving her non-vegetarian meal. Veera Jain, a vegetarian, shared photos on X (formerly Twitter) of the food she received on the Calicut-Mumbai flight, along with her PNR number and other information.
"On my Air India flight AI582, I was served a vegetarian meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. This was a flight that was supposed to take off at 18:40 PM but left the airport at 19:40 PM," Jain stated.
The woman also shared photos of the meal packet, which clearly stated "veg meal" on the wrapper and contained pieces of chicken inside.
She went on to say on social media, "When I informed the cabin supervisor (Sona), she apologized and informed me that there was more than one complaint about the same issue other than me and my friend. However, after I informed the crew, there was no action taken to inform other passengers having vegetarian meals."
The post quickly gained traction on social media, with some users expressing concern about the airline's food handling practices. Air India also responded by asking the woman to contact them via direct message (DM).
