Amarnath Yatra 2024: The Amarnathji Yatra 2024 will begin on June 29, 2024 and end on August 19, 2024. The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board announced that advance registration will begin on April 15.

With only a few months until the annual Amarnath Yatra, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel are receiving specialised training to join the Jammu and Kashmir Police's Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) to ensure devotees' safety and convenience, officials said.

The MRTs, which will include members of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SDRF, NDRF, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), will be stationed at nearly a dozen identified critical points along the twin routes to the sacred cave shrine.

Speaking about the Amarnath Yatra, Jammu and Kashmir MRT Team In-charge Ram Singh Salathia stated, "The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will begin in Jammu and Kashmir in June and last approximately two months. Lakhs of devotees from across the country will gather to worship 'Baba Barfani. During the yatra, pilgrims will encounter difficulties. To deal with the situation, the Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) is training in District Samba to help the travellers."

"The forces are being given thorough training in the hilly areas so that these soldiers can easily overcome any disaster and help people in trouble during the pilgrimage journey," he went on to say.
