Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express starts maiden journey; check schedules, prices and more
Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat: The Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Amritsar and Delhi, started regular service on Saturday, January 6. The semi-high-speed train 22488/22487 will run six days a week, except on Fridays.
The Vande Bharat Express, train number 22488, from Amritsar to Old Delhi, is scheduled to leave Amritsar at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Delhi at 1:50 p.m.
This journey will cover a distance of 448 kilometres in four hours and twenty minutes. The Vande Bharat Express, train number 22487, travelling from Old Delhi to Amritsar, will depart Delhi at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Amritsar at 9:45 p.m.
The ticket price for passengers travelling from Jalandhar Cantt on the Vande Bharat Express is set at 1095, which is slightly higher than the price for the Shatabdi Express, which takes five hours to reach Delhi.
Notably, there will be no concessions for any passenger category on the Vande Bharat Express, and children aged five and up will pay the full fare. Railway employees, on the other hand, will have access to amenities similar to those found on the Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express via their Suvidha Pass.
