Army jawan tied to poll, brutally assaulted by Meerut toll plaza workers, 6 held
PTC News Desk: In a shocking incident, an Indian Army soldier, identified as Kapil Kavid, was brutally assaulted at a toll plaza in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh while returning to his post in Srinagar.

When the staff asked for toll, Kapil showed his I-card, Still the toll workers did not agree. After which the dispute escalated.

A video of the incident doing rounds on the social media shows, toll plaza staff beating Kapil with a stick. Some pinned him to a pole, pulled his hands back, hurled abuses and thrashed him up.
The altercation broke out after Kapil requested toll exemption claiming that his village falls under toll-free zone. The discussion escalated into a heated argument, during which the toll staff allegedly assaulted him.
“Four accused have been arrested after reviewing CCTV footage and video evidence. Two teams are currently working to apprehend the remaining suspects,” SP Mishra said.
A case was registered at the Sarurpur police station after Kapil's family lodged a complaint.
