PTC News Desk: A day after Delhi court reserved its order on Arvind Kejriwal's plea demanding insulin inside the prison, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that Arvind Kejriwal is being pushed towards a slow death inside Tihar.

The AAP leader restated his party's accusation that the jail administration was denying insulin to Arvind Kejriwal, who has Type 2 diabetes.

"I want to say with full responsibility that a conspiracy is underway for the slow death of Kejriwal," Bharadwaj claimed, citing the chief minister's blood sugar levels while in jail.

The leader criticised the Tihar administration, BJP, the Centre, and the Delhi LG for reportedly denying Arvind Kejriwal insulin.

Earlier previous week, the Enforcement Directorate said that Arvind Kejriwal had been taking mangoes, aloo-poori and sugar in tea to elevate his blood sugar levels and qualify for medical bail.

In a hearing on Friday, Arvind Kejriwal's counsel, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, stated that the Delhi chief minister would not want to risk paralysis for release.

He denied ED's claim that he ate mangoes on a regular basis.

"Only three out of 48 meals sent from home contained mangoes," Abhishek Singhvi told the court.

"I (Arvind Kejriwal) only use sugar-free (an artificial sugar brand) in my tea. How petty, political and ridiculous ED can be? Their statements are completely false and malicious. Just because you have a lot of influence in the media you are able to publish that I am having aloo poori even though this meal was sent only once during puja," he said.
