Manipur Police have made their first arrest in connection with the video of two women being paraded naked in Manipur in May this year, state minister N Biren Singh said on Thursday.
"We arrested the main culprit last night around 1.30 a.m.," Manipur's chief minister said. A video of the two-month-old incident went viral, sparking harsh reactions from several political parties and triggering outrage.

In a major update, with five new deaths on Wednesday, the death toll from rains, floods, and landslides in Himachal Pradesh has surpassed 130 in the last 26 days. In the state, 12 persons are still missing and 153 are injured.
Confirming the data, Himachal Pradesh's Revenue Minister stated that the rainfall is still raging in the state and that the administration is on high alert.
Also, two teams of Union government officials have arrived in the state and have begun assessing the flood and rain losses in the state's Solan and Mandi districts.
