Chennai ex-mayor’s son's body found in Sutlej river 9 days after accident
PTC News Desk: The body of Vetri Duraisamy, Tamil film director and former Chennai Mayor's son, was recovered from the Sutlej River nine days after his car plunged into the river in Kinnaur district. Vetri, known for directing the Tamil film 'Endraavathu Oru Naal', was traveling from Shimla to Spiti when the accident occurred on February 4.
Although a co-passenger was rescued and the car driver found dead, Vetri remained missing for nine days. His father, former Chennai City Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, offered a reward of Rs 1 crore for information on Vetri's whereabouts, hoping for his safe rescue.
During the search operation, traces of human brain matter were found near the riverside, collected for DNA profiling to confirm if they belonged to Vetri. Multiple teams, including ITBP, NDRF, SDRF Uttarakhand, and local police, were involved in the search.
