Corruption Exposed: Explosive report uncovers lapses in arrest of SRK's son

Mumbai, May 19: A recent report filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has shed light on alleged corruption and lapses in the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, in a high-profile drugs case. The report, provides damning evidence against former anti-drugs official Sameer Wankhede, who was involved in the arrest.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the matter, has based its First Information Report (FIR) on this report, implicating Wankhede and others in demanding a massive bribe from Shah Rukh Khan's family.

According to the NCB's vigilance department report, the names of Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were added to the case at the last moment, while the names of some other suspects were dropped. This raises suspicions of deliberate manipulation and targeting. Furthermore, the report reveals that during the raid, a suspect in possession of rolling papers was allowed to go, suggesting selective treatment and compromised procedures.

The report highlights a series of lapses in the custody of Aryan Khan, indicating intentional compromises made by Sameer Wankhede. These compromises potentially provided an opportunity for misconduct by Kiran Gosavi, an independent witness in the Mumbai cruise raid, and also violated Central Civil Services laws.

Additionally, the report states that the CCTV footage from the NCB office, crucial evidence for the case, was found to be corrupt. The inconsistencies between the DVR and Hard Copy of the night when Aryan Khan was brought to the NCB office raise further concerns about the integrity of the investigation.

The report also raises questions about Sameer Wankhede's personal assets and foreign trips. It reveals that Wankhede made multiple trips abroad with his family between 2017 and 2021, visiting countries such as the UK, Ireland, Portugal, South Africa, and the Maldives, with a total stay of 55 days. However, his claimed expenditure of only ₹8.75 lakh raises suspicions, as it does not align with the cost of air travel alone.

The report further highlights Wankhede's possession of expensive watches and other properties that are disproportionate to his known sources of income. Notably, it mentions the purchase of a Rolex watch at a significantly lower price than the market value, raising questions about its legitimacy. Additionally, Wankhede owns four flats in Mumbai and an astonishing 41,688 acres of land in Washim. The origins of the funds used for these acquisitions, including a flat bought before his marriage for Rs 1.25 crore, remain unclear.

The income tax returns of Sameer Wankhede and his wife indicate an annual income of ₹45,61,460, which fails to account for the funding of their foreign trips and the acquisition of various assets. This inconsistency further deepens the suspicions of corruption and illicit practices.

The report filed by the NCB's vigilance department presents a troubling picture, suggesting corruption, manipulation, and lapses in the arrest of Aryan Khan. The allegations against Sameer Wankhede, including demanding a massive bribe and intentional compromises during custody, are serious and warrant a thorough investigation by the CBI.

Additionally, the report highlights disproportionate assets and unexplained foreign trips, raising further concerns about the integrity and conduct of the former anti-drugs official. As the case unfolds, it is crucial to ensure a fair and unbiased investigation that upholds the principles of justice and transparency.
