Delhi man strangles 6-year-old nephew to death, hides body in bed box; arrested
PTC News Desk: A man allegedly kidnapping and strangled his six-year-old nephew to death in Delhi, police said on Thursday.
The body of the child, Shivansh alias Chhotu, who was kidnapped two days ago from Bhagat Singh Colony, was discovered in a bed box in the accused's house on Thursday evening, they said.
The arrested accused, identified as Balram, is a resident of Bhagat Singh Colony, according to the police. He is a labourer in Delhi and has three children.
According to the victim's relatives, the man had strained relations with his wife and wanted to blame her for the child's killing.
However, Sushila Devi, SHO of the NIT police station, stated that the matter is still being investigated.
On the complaint of the child's father, Bhanu, NIT police registered a kidnapping case on November 14.
"The accused lived in the complainant's neighbourhood. On Tuesday evening, while playing, the child went to the accused's house, where the accused allegedly strangled the child to death and hid the body in his bed box." "Our crime branch team arrested the accused and is questioning him," police spokesperson Sube Singh said.
