PPCC chief Raja Warring dismisses speculations of Congress infighting, says 'Channi like elder brother to me'
PTC News Desk: Amid reports of differences within the Punjab Congress, Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Saturday dismissed speculation of infighting and said former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is like an elder brother to him.
Warring said there was nothing unusual about Congress leaders meeting at Channi's residence, adding that leaders could similarly gather at his home or at the residence of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Such meetings, he said, should not be seen as signs of internal conflict.
Rejecting claims of factionalism, Warring asserted that there are no divisions within the Punjab Congress and expressed confidence that all senior party leaders would soon appear together on a common platform within the next one or two days.
At the same time, he warned that the party would take strict action against any former MLA or leader found making statements against the Congress or violating party discipline.
Warring also clarified that neither Channi nor any other senior Congress leader had acted against the party's interests.
