Gadkari's revolutionary plan: Petrol at Rs 15 per litre with ethanol-electricity blend!
New Delhi, July 05: Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister, presented an innovative proposal on Tuesday to reduce the price of petrol to Rs 15 per litre. Speaking at a rally in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, Gadkari shared his vision of empowering farmers across the nation to become "urjadaata" (energy providers).
He suggested that by using a blend of 60 per cent ethanol and 40 per cent electricity, the cost of petrol could be significantly reduced. The minister highlighted the advantages of utilising such a mixture, including pollution reduction and decreased reliance on imports.

Gadkari expressed the government's commitment to transforming farmers into not only "annadata" (food providers) but also "urjadata." He stated, "All the vehicles will now run on ethanol produced by farmers. If an average of 60 per cent ethanol and 40 per cent electricity is taken, then petrol will be available at the rate of Rs 15 per litre, benefiting the people."
He further emphasised that adopting this blend would not only address pollution and reduce imports but also redirect the substantial import expenditure of Rs 16 lakh crore towards the farmers' households.
During the same event, Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 11 national highway projects in Pratapgarh, totaling Rs 5,600 crore. Additionally, four national highway projects, spanning a total length of 219 km and costing Rs 3,775 crore, were inaugurated. One of the projects includes a six-lane section from Kishangarh to Gulbapura on National Highway 48, aimed at improving connectivity to Ajmer and Bhilwara districts.
Furthermore, the event witnessed the announcement of 74 projects under the Central Roads Fund in Rajasthan, amounting to Rs 2,250 crore.
