Harda factory fire: Firefighting operation still continues, NDRF team joins effort

Harda factory fire: The firefighting operations continued until Tuesday evening after a massive fire broke out at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh's Harda district in the morning, killing eleven people and injuring around 150 others.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also joined the rescue operation at the incident site in the Bairagarh locality of the district.


Due to the massive explosion, the entire area was engulfed in black smoke, with window panes of nearby houses and shops shattered.

Locals reported that it felt like an earthquake had struck Harda.

The injured have been taken to hospitals, and efforts are underway to put out the fire, according to officials. Ambulances and fire engines from Indore and Bhopal rushed to the explosion site to extinguish the fire.

On the orders of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, State Minister Uday Pratap Singh rushed to the scene via helicopter and announced that an operation had been launched to rescue those still trapped beneath the debris.

According to the minister, the Chief Minister is constantly monitoring the situation.
