PTC Web Desk:  Sarabjit Kaur, an Indian national from Kapurthala in Punjab who married a Pakistani citizen during her visit to Pakistan as part of a Sikh jatha, has now reached the home of her husband, Nasir Hussain, after being released from a women’s shelter facility.

Speculation had been circulating in recent weeks about her possible return to India. However, following her release from a shelter home in Pakistan, videos surfaced showing her expressing happiness and confidence about her decision to stay with her husband. Speaking to local media, Sarabjit Kaur, also known as Noor Fatima Hussain, shared her emotions publicly, with her husband standing beside her.

In her interaction with the media, she said genuine love carries the belief that two people will eventually reunite, no matter the circumstances. She stated that their relationship spans eight years and is not a recent development. Emphasising her commitment, she remarked that she would have chosen to come to Pakistan regardless of circumstances. She further expressed her desire to spend the rest of her life in Pakistan with her husband.

Her statement appears to put to rest earlier reports suggesting that she might be deported to India. Those reports had gained momentum after a video clip circulated online in which she was allegedly heard requesting to return to India while speaking to her Indian husband. The authenticity and context of that clip had remained unclear.

According to previous reports, the authorities were reviewing her immigration status and there had been discussions about possible deportation. However, she has now been permitted to reside with her Pakistani husband.

Sarabjit Kaur, 52, travelled to Pakistan in November 2025 as part of a Sikh religious delegation of over 1,900 pilgrims to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The jatha crossed the Attari-Wagah border for a 10-day visit and returned to India on November 13. Sarabjit, however, did not return with the delegation, leading to subsequent developments surrounding her stay in Pakistan.

There has been no detailed official statement from authorities on the latest decision, but her public remarks suggest she intends to remain in Pakistan permanently.
