Jammu and Kashmir: 5 hybrid LeT terrorists arrested in J&K's Kulgam as security cracks down on terror modules

Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir: In a coordinated operation by the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), security forces dismantled a terror module in Kulgam district, apprehending five terrorists affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, as per an official statement released on Sunday.

The operation yielded a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including two pistols, three hand grenades, one Under-Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), two pistol magazines, 12 pistol rounds, and 21 AK-47 rounds, the statement reported. The detained terrorists have been identified as Aadil Hussain Wani, Suhail Ahmad Dar, Aitmad Ahmad Laway, Mehraj Ahmad Lone, and Sabzar Ahmad Khaar.

A case has been registered in accordance with the relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is currently underway.

Additional details are pending. In a previous incident in August, a joint operation involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 26 Assam Rifles, and the 3rd Battalion of the CRPF had thwarted a terror module in Bandipora, North Kashmir. This operation successfully thwarted the attempts of Pakistan-based terror handlers to revive terrorism activities in the district.
