Kerala man shot dead in Jordan while attempting to cross border illegally, family pleads for help
PTC News Desk: A 47 year old man, native of Kerala was shot dead by security forces in Jordan when he was allegedly trying to cross the border into another country illegally.
The deceased has been identified as Thomas Gabriel Periera who had last contacted his family a month ago and asked them to pray for him.
The Indian Embassy in Jordan is in contact with the local authorities. As per the mail sent to the family, Thomas attempted to cross the border to Israel from the Karak district with an acquaintance named Edison.
"The Embassy has learnt of the sad demise of an Indian national in unfortunate circumstances. The Embassy is in touch with the family of the deceased and is working closely with Jordanian authorities for transportation of mortal remains of the deceased," Embassy said in a post.

A family member of Thomas Periera said he worked in Kuwait for five years and last called home on February 9.
