Maharashtra factory blast: 2 killed, several injured in massive blast at Thane factory
Maharashtra factory blast: In a horrific and unfortunate incident, massive blast at a factory in Maharashtra's Thane on Saturday afternoon claims two lives and several others were injured. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby local hospital.
The incident took place in Century Rayon factory in an industrial area which is about 50 km from Maharashtra.
According to the preliminarily investigation, the blast took place during filling a gas container. It is not yet clear that many people were present at the time when the blast occurred.
As per the statement by police authorities, "A tanker of nitrogen gas was brought to the company which was supposed to be filled with CS2 (Carbon disulfide), and the blast took place during the checking of the tanker."
Those injured in the incident were rushed to different hospitals and admitted there. Condition of some of them was said to be critical, and they had to be shifted to ICU.
The authorities are conducting a further investigation into the matter to determine the circumstances that led to the blast and ensure appropriate action is taken in response to this devastating loss.
