Maharashtra TET paper leak: Bihar man identified as kingpin, investigation underway to nab him
PTC News Desk: The investigation into the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak has taken a fresh with an individual from Bihar identified as mastermind behind the operation.
Bijendra Gupta, a resident of Samastipur, is currently absconding with Maharashtra Police conducting raids across multiple states to trace him. According to the sources, several police teams are conducting raids across Patna and Samastipur as part of efforts to arrest Gupta.
It is also suspected that the arrested accused were reportedly working on his directions.
Gupta is alleged to have been part of examination paper leak networks for nearly 25 years and has faced accusations in several similar cases in the past. Although his name has appeared in multiple investigations, he had managed to avoid arrest on earlier occasions.
The Maharashtra government postponed the TET 2026 examination, which was scheduled for June 28, after allegations surfaced about a possible question paper leak.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, officials from the Education Department are examining whether the material seized by police is the actual TET question paper or merely a mock test paper. Further action will be decided after the verification process is completed.
