Meerut shocker: 'She should be hanged': Parents seek death penalty for daughter who killed husband, cut his body into parts
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking turn of events, the parents of Muskaan Rastogi, accused of brutally murdering her husband and Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput with the help of her lover, have demanded that she be hanged till death. Calling Saurabh their "own son" and acknowledging his unconditional love for Muskaan, they have pledged full support to his grieving family in their fight for justice.
The Meerut police have arrested Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla for the brutal murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput. Saurabh, who worked for a US-based shipping company, had returned home last month to celebrate his six-year-old daughter's birthday. On March 4, Muskaan and Sahil stabbed him to death, dismembered his body into 15 pieces, and sealed the remains in a plastic drum using cement.
After committing the crime, the duo fled to the hills and used Saurabh’s phone to post misleading updates, attempting to conceal the murder. When Saurabh's family failed to contact him, they grew suspicious and filed a missing person's report. Following a police investigation and intense interrogation, Muskaan and Sahil confessed to the crime, leading to their arrest. The police later recovered Saurabh’s remains by drilling through the cement-sealed drum, and the body parts were sent for autopsy.
Parents: ‘She should be hanged’
Muskaan’s parents, Pramod and Kavita Rastogi, have taken an unwavering stand against their daughter, expressing deep remorse and anger over her actions. As per a report in NDTV, they stated that Muskaan must receive the harshest punishment for betraying Saurabh, who had sacrificed everything for her.
Muskaan reportedly visited her parents after returning from the hills and confessed to the murder. Her mother, Kavita, recalled the moment, saying, "She told us, 'Mummy, we killed Saurabh.' Without hesitation, we took her to the police station and got her arrested. Saurabh was blindly in love with her, but she destroyed him."
The couple insists that justice must prevail. “He left his family and their property worth crores for her. And she had him killed. He was our son too,” said Kavita with teary eyes. When asked about the punishment they believe their daughter deserves, they firmly responded, “She should be hanged. She has no right to live.”
Muskaan and Sahil were allegedly addicted to drugs, and Saurabh's potential interference in their lifestyle may have been the primary motive behind the murder. Muskaan’s father stated that Sahil feared Saurabh would prevent their drug-fueled meetings, which ultimately led to the cold-blooded crime.
Her mother revealed that Saurabh had always been supportive of Muskaan. "When he left for London, we suggested that she stay with us, but she refused because she did not want restrictions. We didn’t realise that Sahil had been manipulating her into drug use," she added. The couple’s six-year-old daughter is currently in the custody of Muskaan’s parents.
