PM-designate Narendra Modi has suggested BJP MP G Kishan Reddy for appointment as a cabinet minister to the Union Council of Ministers.
"Grateful to Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji for recommending my name to the Hon'ble President for appointment as a Cabinet Minister in the Council of Ministers. Your trust and confidence in me further my dedication towards your vision of Viksit Bharat," Reddy said on social media platform X.
Ravneet Singh Bittu, the former Member of Parliament for Ludhiana, is set to be included in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest ministerial lineup on Sunday evening. Bittu, the grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, faced defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, losing to Congress candidate Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
Around 50 individuals from the transgender community have received invitations to participate in Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony, where they will offer their blessings, as reported by news agency PTI.
Prior to the ceremony, BJP MP and former Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Virendra Kumar hosted a reception for the community members at his residence.
"This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi's vision of 'sabka saath sabka vishwas and sabka prayas' (Together with all, trust of all, effort of all). Including transgender individuals in the ceremony underscores the PM's message of inclusivity," stated Mr. Kumar to the media.
This marks the first instance of formal invitation extended to transgender individuals for the swearing-in ceremony, he added.

Sarbananda Sonowal, a prominent BJP leader who previously served as Minister for Ports, Shipping, Waterways, and AYUSH, is poised to return to the next NDA government. During the first Modi government, he held the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports from 2014 to 2016.
Sarbananda Sonowal, a prominent BJP figure who previously held the portfolios of ports, shipping, waterways, and AYUSH in the prior cabinet, is poised to rejoin the upcoming NDA government. Sonowal previously served as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports from 2014 to 2016 during the initial term of the Modi administration.
Speculations abound that several BJP MPs may face exclusion from the upcoming cabinet reshuffle. Among them is Purshottam Rupala, who assumed the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying during the 2021 reshuffle. Rupala drew criticism during the election campaign for his remarks regarding the status of former 'maharajas' under British rule, which offended the Kshatriya community.
Anurag Thakur's status remains uncertain as he awaits word from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) regarding his position in Modi's cabinet.
Annapurna Devi, the BJP MP representing Koderma, is poised to become a member of Narendra Modi's cabinet. At 55 years old, Devi previously served as Minister of State for Education during PM Modi's second term from 2014 to 2019. Securing her second consecutive term in the Lower House, Devi achieved a significant victory in Jharkhand, surpassing her opponent, three-term CPI-ML legislator Vinod Singh, by an impressive margin of 3,77,014 votes.
"All our MPs recommended Shrikant Shinde for a ministerial position, but he personally expressed his interest in working within the organization. Eknath Shinde proposed my name. When I received the call from the PMO today, I was delighted to have the opportunity to serve the country," BJP MP Pratarao Jadhav tells PTI.
