Navy sailor, wife, two children found dead at Mumbai home; murder-suicide pact suspected
PTC News Desk: An Indian Navy sailor, his wife and his two children were found dead at their residence in the Navy Nagar area of south Mumbai with preliminary investigation suggesting he died by suicide.
The bodies were recovered from their apartment in the high-security cantonment area Navy Nagar.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the sailor died by suicide after hanging himself, while the deaths of his wife and two children may have been caused by poisoning. The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination.
According to the Cuff Parade police, the sailor was found hanging at his house on Saturday night, and the bodies of his wife and children, aged two months and three years old, were also found on the premises.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kalwaniya said the initial investigation suggests that the Indian Navy sailor died by hanging. His wife and two children are suspected to have died due to poisoning.
The bodies were found at their residence in Navy Nagar, Colaba, on August 15, 2026. Post-mortem examinations are underway, and police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.

In a statement, the Indian Navy described the incident as unfortunate and said it was extending all possible assistance to the police in the investigation.
