Pakistani national shot dead by BSF while attempting border infiltration in Punjab
PTC Web Desk: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday shot and killed a Pakistani national who allegedly tried to cross into Indian territory in the Ferozepur sector along the International Border in Punjab.
In an official statement, the BSF reported that the individual was spotted moving toward the border fence under the cover of darkness after crossing the International Border. Despite multiple warnings from the BSF personnel, the intruder continued to approach, leading the troops to open fire in response.
This incident follows heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s subsequent cross-border retaliation under the operation named Operation Sindoor.
Earlier in the week, on Sunday, BSF forces detained another Pakistani national in Gurdaspur, Punjab, for attempting an illegal border crossing. Identified as Muhammad Hussain, the individual was found with Pakistani currency and a national ID card. He was handed over to the Punjab Police and remains in custody for further investigation.
In a separate incident, a Pakistani Ranger was apprehended in Rajasthan for allegedly crossing the border. Initial investigations suggest he might have been involved in espionage or reconnaissance activities. He is currently being interrogated by BSF officials.
