Passenger tries to open emergency door on IndiGo flight before takeoff, arrested
PTC News Desk: Adding to the tales of passengers disrupting flights with unruly behaviour, a flyer was arrested for allegedly attempting to open the emergency exit door of a Bengaluru-bound Indigo flight prior to take-off.
According to police, the man identified as Swapnil Holey had boarded Nagpur to Bengaluru flight 6E 6803 at around 10 pm on September 30.
According to police, the passenger was sitting next to the aircraft's emergency exit door. The individual allegedly attempted to open the door before takeoff as crew members were briefing passengers.
A senior police officer stated that after the flight landed at Kempegowda International Airport here at 11.55 p.m., Holey was brought to the police station by airline staff.
He was supposed to fly to Bangkok on October 1, according to authorities.
According to them, an FIR was registered under section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (Act endangering the life or personal safety of others) based on the airline staff's complaint, and the accused passenger was arrested in connection with the incident.
He was later released on bail.
