PM Modi interacts with country's top gamers; tries his hands at gaming

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a free-flowing interaction with several well-known gamers about a variety of topics, including the distinction between gaming and gambling. A full video of the conversation was made available on Saturday.

PM Modi was seen curiously questioning the gamers. The Prime Minister also played a few games.

During the interaction, PM Modi clarified the distinction between gaming and gambling. He also requested that gamers send an e-mail to his office detailing all of their difficulties, including specific critical areas.

"Regulation would not be ideal because the government's inherent tendency is to intervene. Either impose legal constraints or strive to understand and shape it to meet the demands of our country. Bring it under an organised, legal structure and improve its reputation," Modi remarked at an interaction with prominent gamers when asked if there should be a governing body for gaming.

"Once that is accomplished, it will be difficult for anyone to tear it down. My goal is to elevate the nation to the point that the middle class no longer requires unnecessary government involvement by 2047. Otherwise, we will be locked in a cycle of paperwork, documentation, and legal systems. In difficult times, those with the lowest incomes need the most assistance from the government." Modi added.

The Prime Minister also asked gamers to consider developing games on a range of issues.

"Today, world leaders discuss global warming and climate change. People discuss various solutions, but I have presented something unique to the world: Mission LiFE! Now, imagine a game targeted at tackling global climate challenges in which the player investigates numerous techniques and ideas to determine the best sustainable approach to climate," the PM stated.

"You can also develop a game based on 'Swachh Bharat'. The game's theme may be cleanliness, and every youngster should play it. The youth should embrace Indian values and understand their true significance," the Prime Minister remarked.

Famous Indian gamers who participated in the conversation included Animesh Agarwal, Naman Mathur, Mithilesh Patankar, Payal Dhare, Tirth Mehta, Ganesh Gangadhar, and Anshu Bisht.
