New Delhi, September 03: In a recent interview with news agency PTI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined his vision for a transformed India as the nation approaches its 100th year of independence. The Prime Minister expressed a strong commitment to eradicating corruption, casteism, and communalism, envisioning a developed India by the year 2047.

"India will be a developed nation by 2047; corruption, casteism, and communalism will have no place in our national life," declared Prime Minister Modi.


He also shed light on the forthcoming G20 summit to be held in New Delhi, emphasizing that the world looks to India for guidance and views the country's words and vision as a roadmap for the future, not mere ideas. India is playing a pivotal role in shifting the world's focus from a GDP-centric view to a more human-centric one.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the changing perception of India on the global stage, stating, "For long, India was seen as a country of one billion hungry stomachs. Now it is one billion aspirational minds and two billion skilled hands." He believes that India's vast population can translate into a massive demographic dividend over the coming decades, offering a unique opportunity to lay the foundation for enduring growth.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister noted that India has transitioned from being merely a large market to becoming a contributor to global solutions for challenges. He cautioned against irresponsible financial policies and populism, asserting that while they may yield short-term political gains, they exact a steep long-term social and economic price.

India's G20 Presidency has instilled confidence in countries of the Global South, emphasizing the importance of their role in global growth. The Prime Minister highlighted Africa as a top priority for India within the G20, emphasizing the need for inclusive dialogue and cooperation to address global issues.

Modi stressed that India's approach to addressing the most marginalized within its own borders guides its actions on the global stage, advocating for those often overlooked in the geopolitical landscape. He noted that the theme of India's G20 Presidency, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' is not just a slogan but a comprehensive philosophy rooted in India's cultural ethos, signifying the belief in the world as one family.

Regarding India's stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable means to resolve conflicts. India's neutral position and commitment to dialogue have faced criticism from some quarters. However, the Prime Minister defended India's decision to purchase fuel from Russia, emphasizing that every nation seeks the best possible outcomes for its citizens, and India is no exception.
