Rajouri encounter: Search operation underway for terrorists, additional security deployed in Poonch district

Rajouri encounter: Amidst the ongoing Rajouri encounter that resulted in the tragic loss of four soldiers, additional security personnel deployed in the Poonch district on as a search operation was ongoing in the forested terrain of Dera ki Gali. 

Additional forces were also deployed in the Bafliaz area of Poonch district. 

In a fatal incident, four Army personnel lost their lives while three others were injured in the ambush attack in an intense encounter broke out in the Baji Mall forests of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. 

On Sunday, a wreath-laying ceremony was held for four soldiers- Naik Birender Singh, Rifleman Gautam Kumar, Naik Karan Kumar, and Rifleman Chandan Kumar who were martyred in a terror attack in Dera ki Gali in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.  

Meanwhile, Indian troops are in the process of intensifying the joint operation against terrorists underway in the area since last evening. The operations are taking place in the 48 Rashtriya Rifles area. 

This incident adds to a series of encounters in the region, reflecting the continuous struggle of security forces combating terrorist activities. Last week, security forces neutralised a terrorist during an encounter in the Guller-Behrote area of Budhal tehsil, reinforcing the persistent threat in the region.
