Security forces foil infiltration bid, terrorist killed in Jammu and Kashmir
PTC News Desk: The Indian Army said in a statement that one terrorist was killed on Wednesday by alert security forces who foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri sector.
According to officials, the terrorists were attempting to infiltrate by taking advantage of poor visibility and bad weather.
The operation is underway, according to the officials.
Last month, security forces shot and killed two terrorists in the Uri Sector after an infiltration attempt was foiled.
According to an Army statement, troops were placed on high alert following specific inputs from intelligence agencies and the Jammu and Kashmir Police of infiltration in the Uri Sector by heavily armed terrorists from across the LoC.
According to an Army press release, on October 21, armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate across the LoC by taking advantage of bad weather marked by constant rain and poor visibility.
The group was intercepted by alert troops, which resulted in a heavy exchange of fire, killing two terrorists.
