Penguin Random House India recently clarified that it has the exclusive rights to publish Four Stars of Destiny, the memoir of General Manoj Mukund Naravane, and confirmed that the book has not been released in any format so far.
The clarification comes as controversy grows over reports that unauthorised copies of the manuscript are being circulated, leading to a political dispute that has also reached Parliament. Delhi Police have registered an FIR and started an investigation into the suspected illegal sharing of content from a book that has not yet been approved for publication.
On Monday, Penguin said it issued the statement to clear confusion following media reports suggesting that versions of the memoir were being circulated in digital and other formats.
