'12 days have passed...': Woman 'roofied' by Insta friend seeks justice, accused absconding
PTC News Desk: A 21-year-old Mumbai woman has reported alleged drugging and sexual assault by a man she met through social media.
The woman chose not to reveal her identity while sharing the distressing details of her "most traumatic experience" on Instagram.
Coming forward with her harrowing story, the woman stated that the accused, Heetik Shah, and she had only interacted on Instagram before agreeing to meet in person. The incident allegedly occurred on January 13 and is being investigated by the Worli Police in South Mumbai.
In an Instagram post, the woman stated that the evening began with the girl meeting and drinking with Heetik Shah before heading to the restaurant Bastian.
The woman claimed she felt "intoxicated and anxious" after drinking tequila shots and suspected she had been drugged without her knowledge.
"He insisted I drink more, and I had a blackout episode, not recalling what happened next. I suspect I may have been roofied," she further said. The slang "being roofied" refers for someone being sexually assaulted after being drugged.

She claims she had a blackout and woke up to find herself being assaulted by Shah. Despite her objections, the accused allegedly continued the assault. The accused used physical violence, slapping her three times in rage, causing her fear and intimidation.
The alleged assault took place at the home of one of Shah's friends, she stated.
The accused apologised for his actions the next morning, but the woman refused to accept it.
"His morning apology means nothing to me, and he has absconded because he knows what he has done. 12 days have passed and he hasn't been arrested," she added.
Following this, the woman called her cousin for help and despite being bruised and injured, she initially refused to tell her parents about the incident. Only after her family discovered the truth she filed an FIR against Shah.
The police investigation into the case is currently underway.
