Pakistan Dismisses Gulab Singh, The First Sikh Police Officer From Service Gulab Singh, the first Sikh police officer from Pakistan, was dismissed from his service on Thursday. His dismiss orders were made by SSP of Lahore. He has been dismissed on the allegations that he used to talk with foreign media by wearing uniforms at duty and from past three months, he wasn’t going on his duty. Pakistans first Sikh police officer Gulab Singh alleged that he was forcibly evicted from his house in Lahore’s Dera Chahal, on 11th July, 2018. Alleging that treatment of the Sikh community in Pakistan is deplorable, he said that he had been evicted from his house by the local police officials and his turban was forcefully opened and hair untied. ‘My house is sealed with all belongings including my slippers inside. Even this ‘patka’ on my head is an old rag which I just wrapped. I was harassed, beaten and my faith was disrespected,’ he said. ‘I thank everyone for their support, the ill treatment being meted out to me is for the world to see.Even in 1947 we Sikhs did not leave Pakistan but now we are being forced to do so,’ he added. -PTC NEWS
