Panchkula: SUV crashes girl's scooter
Panchkula Road Accident: In a major incident, the police has booked two people for harassing a girl and crashing her scooter under their SUV. The incident took place at around 1 pm on Sunday in Panchkula. According to the eyewitness, the men in the SUV were driving rash. They took a sharp turn towards the Sector 8 parking.
The car rammed into the scooter knocking off its rider, a girl from Panchkula. She had a narrow escape with minor injuries. The could have sustained more serious injuries. Soon after the girl raised an alarm, the occupants of the SUV used abusive language against her before escaping to a nearby beer bar in Sector 8.
Meanwhile, some residents who were out for a protest against the paid-parking system rushed to rescue the girl. They protested against sexual harassment and confronted the accused. After an argument, the protesting residents called the police control room to the spot.

Later in the evening, the police registered a case under sections 354 (criminal force to outrage woman's modesty) and 509 (abusive words, gestures, or acts targeted at woman) of the Indian Penal Code at the women's police station.
