Parking space: Sector 19 shopkeepers move to High Court

The shopkeepers of sector 19 have filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana high court demanding a proper parking space. Following which HC has issued a notice to Municipal Corporation, Estate Office, UT administration and Traffic SSP.

The hearing of the matter is on October 17. The traders in the petition demanded a proper parking space for them and the public. According to the petition, there are 432 shops and more than 3500 people visit the market daily. The parking space allocated form them is not enough. They further said that even though they have paid their property tax, income tax, ground rent and lease money to the estate office, but still, no proper parking space has been provided to them. However, the High Court refused to restraint the SSP Traffic. The petition further said that since the authorities have allowed the street vendors, most of the parking area was consumed by them. -PTC NEWS
