Pilot misses destination in Australia
A pilot who was asleep missed his destination by almost 50 km in Australia on Tuesday. A small plane overshot its destination after its pilot fell asleep in the cockpit. The pilot was the only person on-board flying a small plane from Devonport to King Island in Tasmania.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating the incident, which is classified as a case of "incapacitation”.

According to media reports, the officials do not know how pilot woke up before the landing the plane safely. The pilot fell asleep during the cruise that resulted in aircraft overflying King Island by 46 kilometers.

The ATSB said it would interview the pilot and review operating procedures before releasing a report next year. -PTC NEWS
