Kataruchak has no right to stay in Cabinet, action should be taken against him: Punjab Governor
PTC Web Desk: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday sought action against Cabinet minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, saying he had "committed heinous crime". The Governor said Kataruchak had no right to stay in the Punjab Cabinet.
The Governor asked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take action against the minister and "not to forget the issue".
Notably, Kataruchak has been facing allegations of sexual harassment. Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira had submitted a complaint in this regard to the Punjab Governor and even submitted the alleged video clips of Kataruchak.
The alleged victim also came on camera and had alleged that he had been subjected to sexual misconduct from 2013 to 2014, when he was very young, and it continued till 2021.
The alleged victim also confirmed that it was he who was shown in the video in possession of Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, which was submitted by Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
On the other hand, the Punjab Government has also constituted a three-member SIT to probe into the allegations of sexual misconduct levelled by the alleged victim against Kataruchak.
