PM Modi's comeback: Opposition alliance tagged 'ghamandiya'

New Delhi, August 04: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent meeting with allies from Bihar, suggested a new approach to tackle the opposition alliance by referring to them as "Ghamandiya," the Hindi word for arrogant.

PM Modi has been consistently criticizing the opposition bloc for adopting the name "INDIA," accusing them, particularly the Congress, of attempting to rebrand themselves to cover up their past record as the former UPA or United Progressive Alliance.

He stated, "They changed their name from UPA to INDIA to hide how they schemed against the poor... The name INDIA is not to show their patriotism but with an intention to rob the country," during a recent event.

Last month, 26 opposition parties, at a meet in Bengaluru, decided to take on PM Modi and the BJP in the upcoming national election under the new name "INDIA" or Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, symbolizing their fight for the "idea of India" they believe is under attack.

PM Modi, repeatedly targeting the name, even cited the East India Company and terror outfits with "India" in their name. The BJP decided to revert to calling the coalition by its previous label, UPA.

During the meeting, PM Modi also urged MPs of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to rise above caste-based politics and become leaders for the entire society. He cited Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as an example of the BJP's magnanimity for the sake of a stable government, despite having fewer seats.

The Prime Minister advised MPs to promote government schemes as "NDA government schemes" and emphasize that only the NDA can provide a stable government.

He assigned tasks to MPs, encouraging them to share videos on social media to highlight the contributions of the NDA. PM Modi mentioned former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj as examples of leaders to emulate.

He also advised MPs to avoid talking out of turn, citing the example of Sushma Swaraj, who was known for her oratory but spoke only when necessary.
