Punjab DGP submits written reply to Delhi Assembly on Jalandhar FIR linked to Atishi viral video
PTC Web Desk: Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav has formally submitted his written response to the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat regarding an FIR registered by the Jalandhar police over the alleged circulation of a video involving former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi.
According to official communication, the DGP informed the Assembly Secretariat that his reply has been forwarded to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Punjab, for approval. He also stated that a detailed written response has been received from the Jalandhar Police Commissioner and subsequently sent to the competent authority for further action.
In a separate submission routed through the DGP, the Jalandhar Police Commissioner confirmed that the reply related to the FIR has already been prepared. The Commissioner added that once the necessary approvals are granted, the response will be formally conveyed to the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
It may be recalled that the Secretariat had sought multiple records in connection with the case, including the initial complaint received by police officials and the forensic analysis report from the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). As per a letter issued on January 16, these documents were required to be submitted by January 22.
However, the forensic report and related records were not made available within the stipulated timeframe, prompting the issuance of a reminder. Subsequently, through another communication dated January 23, the deadline for submission was extended to January 28, with a renewed emphasis on providing the complete forensic documentation.
Despite the extension, the Secretariat has maintained that the FSL report has still not been submitted.
