Sanjay Singh exposes nexus between BJP, corruption, political maneuvering in Delhi liquor policy scam

PTC News Desk: AAP's Sanjay Singh, recently released on bail, held his first press conference where he made startling allegations, accusing the BJP's senior leadership of orchestrating a conspiracy to incarcerate Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Singh revealed that a key figure implicated in the Delhi liquor policy case, Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, had been awarded a Lok Sabha ticket by the BJP's ally, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), in Andhra Pradesh.

Displaying a photograph of Reddy alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh questioned the association between the accused and the highest echelons of power.

Singh highlighted the connection between Reddy's alleged involvement in the liquor scam and his subsequent political ascent, emphasising the utilisation of Modi's image for electoral purposes. He underscored the perceived collusion between BJP leaders and individuals implicated in corruption scandals, implying complicity at the highest levels of governance.

According to Singh, Reddy was subjected to scrutiny by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on September 16, 2022, concerning his role in the liquor policy case while he was associated with the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Singh alleged that when Reddy refused to incriminate Kejriwal, his son Raghava Reddy was arrested in February 2023. Subsequently, both Reddy and his son switched allegiance to the TDP on March 16, with Raghava Reddy becoming an approver in the case.

Singh detailed the sequence of events, indicating that Reddy and his son had provided multiple statements to the ED. He alleged that after months of coercion, Reddy altered his testimony, implicating Kejriwal in the scandal. Singh insinuated that this change in stance was a result of pressure exerted by investigative authorities, raising questions about the integrity of the legal process.

By juxtaposing the timeline of events with visual evidence of Reddy's association with Modi, Singh sought to underscore the purported nexus between political power and corruption allegations. He portrayed Reddy's transformation from a mere accused to a political candidate endorsed by a major political party as emblematic of systemic corruption and manipulation within the Indian political landscape.
