'Worked for all, not my family': Nitish Kumar's poll pitch in new video ahead of Bihar elections

PTC News Desk: Five days ahead of the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday showcased his government’s achievements over the past two decades, asserting that all his work had been done with integrity and dedication for the welfare of the people.

In a video message, the 74-year-old leader took aim at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing it of fostering “jungle raj” (lawlessness) during its 15-year tenure, and said that the NDA government had restored law and order in the state. He further alleged that the Congress-RJD alliance had done little for women, while the NDA had worked to empower and make them self-reliant.

Urging voters to support the NDA in large numbers, Kumar said that if the alliance returned to power, Bihar would see accelerated development. “Give us another opportunity. We will transform Bihar into one of the leading states in the country. So please turn out in maximum numbers and cast your vote,” he appealed.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his role in Bihar's development, Nitish Kumar said, "The PM Modi-led central government is giving full support to Bihar's development journey. Only the NDA can develop Bihar. The pace of development has increased a lot due to the presence of both NDA governments at the Centre and the state," he said.

Bihar, which has 243 Assembly constituencies, will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.

As part of the seat-sharing arrangement, both the BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each, while Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party–Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) will field candidates in 29 constituencies. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) will contest six seats each.
