Pune Wall collapse: At least 17 people killed in a wall collapse due to heavy rainfall
Pune Wall collapse: As many as 19 people killed as a wall collapsed in Pune due to heavy rainfall, here on Saturday. As per reports, the wall of a residential complex collapsed on shanties which took the lives of 17 people. The rain has been on the hunt in Mumbai and Pune as the states have been put on alert as the forecast has predicted heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

Pune police commissioner K Venkatesham has ordered an investigation to find out the reason about the wall collapse. Also, K Venkatesham has assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.

India Meteorological Department, Mumbai in a tweet said and I quote, "Very active monsoon conditions over west coast, with deep westerlies. Heavy rainfall expected in #Mumbai, #Thane & around west coast".

Likewise, Mayor of Pune, Mukta Tilak while addressing to the media shared her opinion on Pune Wall collapse in Kondhawa. She said I quote, "An investigation will be conducted into the incident. We are giving a 'work stop' order so that no work can be continued at the construction site here."
Meanwhile, Pune police, fire brigade, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel have reached to the spot and the rescue operation is underway.
