Ludhiana, May 19: In a horrifying incident, around 20 dogs were poisoned to death by some miscreants at a locality in Ludhiana's Khanna in Punjab.

The incident took place as someone reportedly fed poisoned laddoos to the dogs at Kehar Singh Colony on Lalheri Road. Around 20 dogs were killed.


Locals reported the carcasses to police on Friday morning.

SHO additional Mandip Kaur, who visited the location, stated that five dog carcasses were discovered and sent for post-mortem examination. The actual number of dogs killed has yet to be determined. She stated that the CCTV cameras in the area were being reviewed to learn more about the miscreants.

Residents of the area, including Ashok Kumar, Karmapal, Dheer Singh, Kala, Joginder Singh, Babbu, and Lakhwar Singh, said that 20 to 25 dogs were roaming the area until yesterday, but that almost all of them have gone missing today. Five bodies have been recovered so far.
