All schools, colleges in Punjab to reopen from May 12
PTC News Desk: Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains has announced that all educational institutions — schools, colleges, and universities — in Punjab will reopen from Monday. Regular classes and examinations will resume as per the academic schedule.
In wake of the prevailing volatile situation, the minister directed the safety of all the students must be ensured particularly staying on the campus.
Punjab minister also contented that no student shall under any circumstances be forced to leave the campus on the pretext of safety, transport or personal concerns. He emphasised that the educational institutes must ensure that food, shelter, care and other essential services are provided without disruption.
He further informed that the students who are willing to return home shall not be face any academic penalties. The examinations may be rescheduled or alternative arrangements may be provided, as required. To ensure streamlined process, all the educational institutions are directed to designate nodal officers and establish helpdesks. These will facilitate effective communication with students and promptly address any concerns or issues that may arise.
