'Bandi Chhor Diwas' to be celebrated on October 21 at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar

PTC News Desk: The 'Bandi Chhor Diwas' this year will be celebrated on October 21 at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, confirmed Head Granthi Giani Raghbir Singh. The announcement comes amid mounting confusion among devotees surrounding Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas.


Harmandir Sahib Head Granthi Giani Raghbir Singhsaid that there had been confusion among the devotees regarding the date of Bandi Chhor Diwas, prompting him to issue this clarification. 

Meanwhile, he also appealed the Sikh Community to reduce the use of firecrackers, which ultimately contribute in rising pollution and encouraged them to light ghee lamps and candles. 

He also underscored that as the Sikh faith always stood for peace, light and love, everyone should pledge to protect the environment the serve humanity. 

As every year, the Sri Harmandir Sahib is beautifully illuminated with lights, and devotees have gathered to joyously celebrate the occasion. Sikhs across the world mark this day with devotion and enthusiasm, remembering Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, who set a true example of spiritual and human freedom.
