Chandigarh: NIA court to declare Goldy Brar fugitive, issues 30-day ultimatum
PTC News Desk: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court in Chandigarh has issued a 30-day ultimatum to terrorist Satwinder Singh alias Goldy Brar to appear in person within 30 days. The court has also directed the agency to declare him fugitive if he fails to appear in the court.
A case of kidnapping a businessman was registered against Goldy Brar in Chandigarh on January 20, 2024, which the NIA took over on March 8, 2024. Goldy is also the mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The central government has already designated him as a terrorist, and he is currently living in Canada.
In this case, Goldy Brar has been charged under IPC sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 336 (endangering life through negligence), 384 (extortion), and 506 (criminal intimidation), along with provisions of the UAPA and the Arms Act. If he fails to appear within the stipulated time, his property can be confiscated. According to sources, efforts to bring him back to India from Canada have also been intensified.
