PTC Web Desk: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has granted regular bail to dismissed Bathinda police constable Amandeep Kaur, popularly known on social media as 'Insta Queen'. Justice Aman Chaudhary passed the order allowing her release in a corruption case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Amandeep Kaur was booked by the Bathinda Vigilance Bureau on May 26 in FIR No. 15 under Section 13(1)(B) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. She was accused of possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 48 lakh accumulated over seven years: from April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2025.

During the hearing, senior advocate Dr Anmol Rattan Sidhu, appearing for the petitioner, informed the court that Amandeep Kaur had been in custody for nearly six months. According to the custody certificate submitted by the state, she had remained behind bars for five months and 19 days.

While examining the case records, the Punjab and Haryana High Court noted that although the challan was filed on November 14, 2025, charges were yet to be framed. With 46 prosecution witnesses listed, the court observed that the trial was likely to be prolonged. Continuing detention, it said, would violate the petitioner’s right to personal liberty under Article 21 of the Constitution. The Bench also noted that she is already on bail in another NDPS case.

The court ordered her release on regular bail subject to strict conditions. Amandeep Kaur must furnish bail and surety bonds before the trial court or duty magistrate. She has been barred from tampering with evidence, influencing or intimidating witnesses, changing her address or mobile number and leaving the country without prior court permission until the trial concludes.
