On Father's Day 2024, Indian politician and Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Bathinda, Harsimrat Kaur Badal fondly remembered her late father and SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal, in a heartfelt social media post.

Taking to social media handle, she posted an emotional video and wrote, “Today, on the occasion of Father's Day, remembering Sardar Parkash Singh Ji Badal Saab, I want to say that he was Baba Bohar not only for us but for all Punjabis, his tireless efforts for Punjab can never be overlooked. He spent his entire life fighting for the rights of Panth, Punjab and Punjabis, that is why he was the favourite leader of all Punjabis. I will always try to follow in their footsteps and keep their thoughts alive as much as possible. #HappyFathersDay #ParkashSinghBadalji”
SAD patriarch, Parkash Singh Badal, SAD patriarch breathed his last at Mohali's Fortis Hospital on April 25, 2023.
Parkash Singh Badal was a five-time former Chief Minister of Punjab and Akali Dal patriarch. The veteran leader, who served as a village sarpanch, was the youngest Chief Minister to ever hold office in Punjab, at the age of 43.
Sardal Parkash Singh Badal led many morchas such as the movement for Punjabi Suba (statehood), and was also imprisoned during the Emergency.
He also got a chance to play his stint in national politics during the Janata Dal government, but returned to Punjab politics soon.
