PTC News Desk: Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal failed to appear in Mohali district court on Tuesday morning, despite being summoned. His lawyer asked for more time during the hearing.

Gippy Grewal was scheduled to appear before the Mohali Court on Tuesday in a six-year-old case involving gangster Dilpreet Baba. The court issued bailable warrants against Gippy Grewal on the last hearing. He was also asked to appear at the next hearing and submit a Rs 5,000 security bond.

This case dates back to May 31, 2018, when Gippy Grewal received threatening voice and text messages on WhatsApp from an unknown number. The message asked him to contact gangster Dilpreet Singh Baba and threatened that if he did not comply, he would face consequences similar to those suffered by Parmish Verma and Chamkila. Following this, Gippy Grewal filed a complaint with the Mohali police.

Gippy Grewal is currently in Canada, which led to a delay in receiving court summons. As the main complainant, his testimony is critical to the case. The court issued another summons today, asking him to appear. Additionally, Punjab Police DSP Rupinder Singh Sohi, who was previously summoned, also failed to appear in court.

The accused, Dilpreet Singh Baba, was also scheduled to appear in court, but the police were unable to bring him in on a production warrant. The court highlighted the importance of all parties' appearances.
