Manisha Gulati removed as Punjab women panel chief, yet again
Mohali. March 11: The Punjab Government has yet again withdrawn an extension of term granted to Manish Gulati, chairperson of the Punjab State Women Commission, Chandigarh.
Earlier also, Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Manisha Gulati was removed from her post after the Social Security and Women and Child Development Department withdrew a letter dated September 18, 2020, that had given her an extension as chairperson. However, the order was revoked after Manish Gulati moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Notably, she was appointed to the post of the Chairperson, Punjab State Women Commission in March 2018 by the Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress government.
Earlier, Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal had said that, “They respected the High Court order but Manisha Gulati will again be removed from the post.”
