Punjab: BSF and Punjab Police team up to intercept narcotics smuggling attempt in Tarn Taran district
Tarn Taran, September 01: In the wee hours on Friday, a collaborative search operation was initiated by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police based on specific intelligence indicating the presence of illicit contraband dropped by a drone. The operation unfolded on the outskirts of Mehdipur village in Tarn Taran district.
During the search, at approximately 5:40 am, the joint teams successfully discovered a white-colored sack containing three suspicious packets, which are believed to be heroin (with an approximate gross weight of 2.752 kilograms). Additionally, the recovery included four illuminating strips and an iron hook, which is likely used for suspending items from drones. These items were found within a farming field near Mehdipur village.
Once again, the combined efforts of the BSF and Punjab Police have effectively thwarted yet another illicit smuggling endeavor, upholding their commitment to curbing narcotics-related activities.
