Punjab: Martyred Army jawan Sehajpal Singh cremated with full military honours at Patiala's Randhawa village

PTC Web Desk: The mortal remains of Army jawan Sehajpal Singh, who attained martyrdom in the line of duty in Assam, were consigned to the flames at his native village Randhawa in Patiala district on Monday. His father Amarjit Singh li the pyre.

Sehajpal Singh was cremated with full military honours. A large number of people, including Army officials, gathered to pay homage to the martyr.


Earlier, at 10 am, heart-rending scenes were witnessed as the mortal remains of Sehajpal Singh reached his native village Randhawa in Patiala district. His parents were inconsolable.  Punjab Cabinet minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra was also present. 

Sehajpal Singh had joined the Indian Army in 2015. His younger brother Amritpal Singh (21) is also serving in the Indian Army and is currently stationed in Ladakh.

Cabinet Minister Jauramajra assured the family of the martyred jawan of all possible help.
