Punjab spy network busted: Pathankot man held for 'sharing' Army movement details with Pakistan handlers
PTC Web Desk: In a major breakthrough linked to national security, the Punjab Police have arrested a man from Pathankot for allegedly passing sensitive information related to the movement of Indian Army and paramilitary forces to handlers operating from Pakistan.
The accused, identified as Baljit Singh alias Bittu, is a resident of Chakk Dhariwal village in Punjab. According to investigators, he had allegedly installed an Internet-enabled CCTV camera near a strategic point on the Pathankot-Jammu National Highway to secretly monitor military activity.
Police officials believe the live surveillance footage was being transmitted electronically to foreign-based operatives connected to Pakistan.

Senior police officer Daljinder Singh Dhillon said the accused had installed the camera at a shop located close to a bridge near Sujanpur on the Pathankot-Jammu stretch of National Highway-44.
During interrogation, Baljit Singh reportedly admitted that the surveillance setup was installed earlier this year under instructions received through foreign contacts. Investigators revealed that he had allegedly been communicating with an unidentified individual based in Dubai.
The police said the accused received around Rs 40,000 for carrying out the installation.
Authorities recovered an Internet-based CCTV camera and a WiFi router from his possession during the operation.
The operation began after security agencies received information about suspicious surveillance activity along the highway corridor, which is considered strategically important because of frequent military movement.
Following the tip-off, the Sujanpur police registered a case against four persons allegedly involved in anti-national activities.
Apart from Baljit Singh, the accused named in the FIR include Vikramjit Singh alias Vikka, Balwinder Singh alias Vicky, and Taranpreet Singh alias Tannu.
Police teams have launched raids to trace and arrest the remaining suspects.
Officials stated that a detailed report has been forwarded to senior authorities, while investigators continue to examine the suspected cross-border links and funding channels connected to the network.
